Petition for Removal of Visa Requirement by Canada for Polish Citizens

Dear fellow Canadians:

The Canadian Polish Congress has spent the last 10 years meeting with government officials and Ministers of Immigration to have the Visa requirements removed from Polish citizens visiting Canada.

In 2007 Members of the Congress and Polonia have met with numerous Members of Parliament, Diane Finley - the Minister of Immigration, Jason Kenny - the Minister of Multiculturalism, & Stockwell Day - the Minister of Public Safety. We need one last petition to Prime Minister Stephen Harper to finally remove the Visa requirements.

The City of Toronto and former Councillor Chris Korwin-Kuczynski and the Toronto - Warsaw Friendship Committee have launched a postcard campaign for people to mail to Prime Minister Stephen Harper. The Polish Community in Canada must push this issue one last time. If there is an election or if the government changes - new ministers will start all over from the beginning to review the process. The time is now!

The Congress has set up an electronic petition. And I ask you to submit an electronic petition (one email for each individual in the family is necessary), as well as a postcard to the Prime Minister.

If you signed a petition last year - thank you - but we need you to sign again. Your one email is important. Together we will make Canada a better place to live, work and raise our families.

W. Lizon - President, Canadian Polish Congress
